Choosing a dance style that’s right for you

Classical Ballet

Ballet forms the basis of all forms of dance and is very popular throughout the dance school. Classes create a positive learning environment and the dancers learn proper classroom etiquette, which will follow them throughout their school years and into adulthood. Initially the children develop basic motor skills such as standing correctly, balancing on one foot, good co-ordination, moving to music and working with partners. As they progress they develop fitness, strength and proper body alignment to turn while balancing. They work on advanced level jumps, reaching maximum flexibility, all of which will improve with every year of training. Most importantly, they also develop an awareness of their own style and learn to express their emotions through the art of dance.
Ballet classes are available from beginners to advanced standard and follow the syllabus of the British Ballet Organisation, which is fully accredited by the Dance Council of Great Britain and QCA.
Disco

Disco classes at the dance school do not follow a syllabus but instead feature a wide variety of free-style choreographic styles. The teachers assess all students regularly, and as they progress the students are given the opportunity to move to a more advanced class which offers increased pace and difficulty.
